My baby story....

On Wednesday, December 15, I had gone to sleep at about 6:00am not feeling very well. At 1:00pm I woke up with some painful contractions an started timing them. After 2 hours, the contractions had gotten a little more pinful but were so irregular that I figured if I went to the hospital, they would just send me home. So I just sat around at home for 6 more hours texting Bonnie and Mom the whole time telling them how painful my contractions were. Now, if you've ever had a baby that wasn't "scheduled" (induction or c-section) and you've been sent home from the hospital when you thought you'd be having your baby any minute, you'll know why I didn't want to go yet. Sure, my contractions felt like death, but they weren't regular at all! They were anywhere from 10-25 minutes apart...so I didn't want to go to the hospital and tell them that my contractions weren't regular and have them send me home because I was already in so much pain that I would have cried. So....at about 9:00pm, after some convincing from Bonnie and Mom (thanks guys), I went to the hospital. We went through the first paperwork process and then they took me to one of the delivery rooms to change into a gown and be checked out. After taking my vitals, the nurse checked to see how far dilated I was and she says, "Are you wanting an epidural? Because you're dilated to 7cm and now would be the time to get it." I was so shocked! When I was in labor the first time, I was only dilated to 2cm when I was having this kind of pain! But I was so happy that I didn't have to spend hours on end at the hospital just waiting to find out if I would be admitted (like I did the first time). They hooked me up to an IV and the whole time telling me that I was the perfect candidate for a natural birth because with how far dilated I was and how strong my contractions were measuring, I wasn't making any noise and not squirming during my contractions. That made me feel good...knowing I was calm...it was a good omen. Right after my IV was in, the anethesiologist came in and my epidural was put in. I love epidurals! I think that people that don't use them are just nuts! So...about an hour and a half after I got my epidural, I was dilated to 10cm and waiting for the doctor to get there to break my water. I felt so bad for my doctor...he looked like he had just woken up and was still half asleep! But I trusted him. And now here comes the fun part! The doctor broke my water and right away was telling me to push and after 2 pushes, TADA!...Elizabeth LaRee Eggett was born at 12:28 on December 16th. She weighed 5lbs 13 oz and was 18 inches long. So small compared to Luke (8lbs 3 oz and 20 1/2 inches)! But she was perfect! We had to leave her under the heater for an hour because she just didn't want to warm up! I guess she didn't have enough fat on that tiny body of hers. But after that, I got to hold and feed her for about 2 hours and then they took her to put her back under the heater for half an hour. The only other issue we had was she didn't pass her hearing screening the first time but she did the second time...yay! I had no issues at all...I only took pain medicine once and that was about 8 hours after I had her. I was so ready to be out of that hospital that morning, but of course I had to stay and make sure that everything was peachy. We left the hospital on Thursday afternoon and Elizabeth is so perfect! She cries only when she is hungry or poopy (sometime not even then) and sleeps most of the time. Luke just loves her! He's always wanting to give her hugs and kisses and will not take hold on as an answer! We are so happy to finally have her!!!

happy

I have 4 days off in a row and during the last 2 days I've been cleaning! I've cleaned and organized EVERYTHING that I possibly could! I suppose that it is because of the whole "nesting" thing I'm going through right now. I have not organized that much stuff since high school!!! So now even though I am satisfied with how everything looks and how happy it makes me...alas, I am bored. As a reward to myself for doing all of this when I could just sit around and do nothing, I am going to a movie and lunch with Bonnie. Why not my love, Loren? Because he is sleeping after his graveyard shift and I don't want to wait for him to wake up. And Bonnie likes me so she gets to help me bask in my victory over the filth that was my house. (it wasn't that bad...just unorganized)
Bonnie is talking about how she likes folding towels...right now...to chelcie...weirdy.
I'm getting close to when they test your blood sugar levels...I'm scared. I've been eating the same way I did when I was pregnant with Luke (after I found out I had gestational diabetes) but I'm still thinking that I'm going to test with high sugar levels. Golly gee.....even if I find out that I don't have it, I'm going to keep on eating the way that I've been eating because I've gained way less weight than I did during my first pregnancy. Blah blah blah, I know. The good thing about my due date is that it is the week before Christmas...and I think that she will even be early. But I get to take 8 weeks of maternity leave and so I'm going to do the 2 weeks before my due date along with the 6 weeks of recovery. So that means that I will only have to work during the busy Christmas Greeting Card time for about 2 weeks...and not the busy two weeks. I'M EXCITED!!! It will be goo for them not to have me around during all of the hullabaloo and to have them figure out the technical problems that we get when we are busy by themselves. Yay!...Well, I'm excited...don't be so enthusiatic for me....
Anyway, so I'm just going to finish this blab, I mean...blog...done.

BABY!!

Today I had a doctor appointment and found out some wonderful news...IT'S A GIRL!!! That's right! A Girl!!! We are naming her Elizabeth LaRee Eggett and her due date is December 22nd. I am 21 weeks along and Elizabeth is kicking her little heart out. My doctor said that everything looks perfect with the baby and myself...and the "diet" I've been on has been very helpful with keeping us healthy. It's the same diet I was on when I was pregnant with Luke and has gestational diabetes so don't think that I'm depriving Elizabeth of any nutrients. I'm actually giving her exactly what she needs and less of what she doesn't. I have ultrasound pics and as soon as I get them scanned into my computer, I'll post them. As for the 2 guys in my life, they are just peachy. Loren is so excited that we are having a girl and is almost as excited as I am to have her in our lives and to be able to hold her....only 4 more months! Luke is...well...a two year old. So cute and sweet and you just want to squeeze him....that is, when he's not throwing a tantrum! :) That's a two year old for ya. Hopefully (with Bonsters help) we will have him potty trained close to when Elizabeth is born. That way we will only have one child at a time in diapers...chant with me!...dream do come true, dreams do come true, dreams what? COME TRUE!!! Don't they?!.........I just hope that it doesn't take forever to potty train my dear little boy.... aslfj;lngwo;aliwjviwo;vne

Theory

When I was pregnant with Luke, I was very sick...I mean "had to quite my job, can't sit up without the upchuch feeling" sick. This time around is a whole different story! I gag whenever I need to eat and I don't get food quick enough (the baby barely has a heartbeat and is already demanding food THIS SECOND!) but I've only thrown up a few times and here is where my theory lies... With Luke I had gestational diabetes and had to be on a special diet. I didn't eat a lot of sugar and pouted about it till the end! This time, I don't want sugar at all! Whenever I think about sugary stuff, I gag. I've also come to realize that whenever I have eaten too many carbs, I've thrown up those carbs and those are the only vomitting moments so far. I'm thinking that my mind has been fixated on keeping the sugar down and the baby healthy...so therefore makes my body is rejecting that sugar... I've gone back on the gestational diabetes diet just to be safe but sometimes (like during family gatherings and such) it's hard to resist! i have done pretty well at keeping at it though. So that is my theory on my body and it's intolerance for sugar. p.s. Bonnie....300 is so BORING!!!

Happy news

For those of you that haven't heard yet, I am pregnant! We are very excited about it and are hoping for a girl this time. It would be cool to have a girl because the baby is due in December....my birth month. And Luke was born in May...Loren's birth month. So if it's a girl we are naming her Elizabeth LaRee. And if it's a boy we will name him Gabriel Tiernan. I'm so excited and nervous about it it's not even funny!!! Especially because I've been wanting another baby for a while now and I just want everything to go smoothly. heeheehee!!!!!!!!!!!!
